I was invited by Universidad Santo Tomás – Seccional Tunja to share the history of NovaMundi, the opportunities and challenges of creating games with a heavy component of cultural heritage.

The talk was presented in a “masterclass” format, and touched on the following topics:

* Insights into the development process of Novamundi
* Inspiration to create a video game that incorporates elements of the Muisca culture
* Balancing entertainment and educational elements in the game’s design
* Challenges faced during the development of Novamundi, especially in terms of preserving and promoting the Muisca culture
* The role of video games in preserving and promoting cultural heritage
* The video game development industry in Colombia, and how it plays in the global market
* Experiences and strategies for expanding a Colombian video game into international markets
* Tips to create games that reflect your cultural backgrounds and heritage
