js13kgames is a long-running game jam with a simple goal: create a JavaScript game in 13 Kilobytes of zipped JavaScript. This year I’m creating a game about conquering the Rainbow Kingdown.
The next step on developing it was to improve the visuals so that the scene was less abstract; the first pass didn’t go very well, but my direction was pretty bad too.

Subsequent passes made it a bit better but still unpolished.

Final pass was to prevent the forest blobs from touching the shoreline, make the mountains emerge from the woods. also add some floating clouds in the background (they can still look much better)

Next up: Adding a couple of gameplay changes to make it more fun, and try to include some music maybe!
