Redimensioning the world

Surfing in the web I found out that Ultima VI overworld is 1024 x 1024… and its just as big as it must be… 8192 x 8192 would be too boring, so I’m scaling things down.

Now all the map will be generated using the plasma fractal, and then initial mapcells will be assigned from a list that holds different probabilities according to the biome type, finally the CA is run for 3 or 4 generations…

I will have to become the avatar again and travel the land, this time not with the eight runes of virtue, but with a sheet of paper and a pencil, as I plan to investigate the world of Britannia.
