Thought I’d start implementing some interactive features based on each one of the songs + the idea my daughter had. So first one was being able to take pictures

You can now enter picture mode, set the frame size using the mouse scrollwheel, and take pictures which are stored in your camera roll (you can then download them).
One idea is that you’ll be able to take these pictures and use them in a scrapbook, alongside lyrics you are collecting while the song plays…. maybe.

I spent some time checking on the lyrics of all the designated songs and thinking how it would be possible to weave together a narrative of building memories and putting them into a scrapbook.
Furthering on the idea of this being an open, free-form experience, I added a “music player” icon which you can use to control the songs playback. Come to think about it, making it based on “gadgets” is also pretty Japanese.

This also meant no longer tying the duration of the sunset to the song duration since you can now stop the song at any time, and select another one. It’s much more freeform now. So the sunset takes 3 minutes now (but also added an option to roll back time to 2PM any time after 5PM).
Thinking about more interaction options, I made it so that if you click on Miku she will stare at you, so you can take a picture of her maybe.
Plans include adding some more elements to the scene like ships, birds, cars (train?) in the bridge, as well as making Miku move to different locations (sit on top of the car, grabbing soda in a vending machine, staring at the sun). Also thinking of adding a “gameboy” interaction where you can play a simple rhythm minigame (maybe I’ll do the pixel art for that one)
