Lake Hamana Cheki Chance! (浜名湖チェキチャンス!) – 「24日目」

We are running out of time.

Gecko emerged from the shadows today with a pack of ambient sounds and sound effects; I did the due diligence of integrating all of them, which included improving the audio management system so that we could handle different channels for ambient, music and sound effects, integrating it with the settings system and textalive itself. It still needs some tweaks… the music audio coming from TextAlive is too loud and dwarfs anything else.

I also talked with Sara Rios today; unfortunately, although she was interested in the project, it’s too late for her to jump in in full strength. However, she was able to take a look at the screenshots and gave me some advice to improve the styling of the game. I got deep into it, and I meant I dug into the muddy CSS gemini created in a lot of cases (ugh, not pretty!). But in the end managed to improve it quite a bit I think.

Friend Stoltverd also gave the game a look today and found a bug in the notebook interaction with photos being duplicated as he tried to rotate them- an issue with multi touch gestures which was hard to debug in the emulator – but fixed quickly on device. Gecko also noted that the ambient sounds didn’t play until you attempted to change their volume in the setting, probably defaulting to volume 0? Ambient transition (to night) also seems not to be working.

There’s also something I needed to address: Collisions with Miku and the stage elements, or the lack thereof. I tried to generate the collision bodies dynamically from the model, but in the end decided to simplify the geometry and just place some invisible colliders manually.

We are running out of time.
