A couple of weeks ago I managed something I’d wanted to long a long time ago, to “revive” Ananias and address things that had long bothered me.

Where did that name, Ananias come from?
Back in 2014, I was participating in the 7DRL Challenge for the 10th time which seemed like a lot. My first idea was to make a “passive time” roguelike, similar to what I intended for the old Pixal2 project. Moving between rooms would take some real-life time.
I quickly ditched that idea. My second idea, then, was to make a traditional roguelike that was very easy to play in mobile and tablets.
In any case, it needed a name so somewhere around Day 5 of the challenge, I ask a friend for a name for the game; she casually said: ‘Name it “Ananias”, like the husband of Tola’, I shrugged and I did it.
Initially the name was “The Tablet of Ananias”, because it was meant to be played in tablets, and the final artifact you had to find in the dungeon was The Tablet of Ananias. So Smart.
As development of the game progresses beyond the 7DRL, at some point of time, I asked the awesome pixel artist, Denzi, to create a title screen for the game. I sent him some ideas that he completely ignored and, instead, he sent me this image, the image of a vicious serpent/dragon-like creature.
That’s how Kramora was born.
Anyways, I finally changed the name of the game, commissioned some cool cover art for the game, and released a new version with a HD mode and UX improvements. For now, it’s only available on Steam.
